LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA (Monday and Tuesday) Valery Gergiev, the great Russian conducting machine and all-purpose musical dynamo, leads the London Symphony in an all-Prokofievseries with installments at Avery Fisher Hall this week and next (March 29 and 30). The Monday evening installment includes the Symphony No. 1 and the Symphony No. 6, as well as the Piano Concerto No. 2, with Vladimir Feltsmanas the soloist. On Tuesday Mr. Gergiev leads the Symphony No. 2 and Symphony No. 7, and is joined by Vadim Repin in the Violin Concerto No. 1. (On Tuesday at 6:45 p.m., there will be a preconcert lecture by the Prokofiev specialist Harlow Robinson at the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse.)
